THE PASSION FOR CHANGE MUSIC PROJECT

This is the project that was started up by me, it is located in one of Uganda's biggest slums called kisenyi, i have lived in this slum for the whole of my life and i know all the challenges that are being faced. After acquiring the skills from the sessions we got from the Butterfly project, i was able to start up a project basing on my ability i grew up with alot of passion for music and i have always loved music. so i had already looked for a way through which i could create change in my community because i was really tired of the difficulties that the young people were facing in the community and was therefore so passionate about creating change and i remembered that there are many talented chilldren in my community in music and they had no way of expressing their talents that i had to use these talents to create change by reaching out to the community. these are children aged four to sixteen and come from the disadvantaged homes.
They face many challenges in life like child abuse, among others, so through the music project i am able to cheer them up, and show them that they can overcome the challenges that they are facing and that they can show the other people going through the same thing that they can also make it.
We do sing and dance and we have composed our own songs. we also do some games for fun like the sports games. The rehearsals do take place twice in a week if they are not in holidays and if they are its three times. we have already performed on several occasions in the community and we are willing to do more. I would like to thank the people who have been helping me to realize my dreams come true, thank you very much and i appreciate, i am willing to do more, continue supporting me. In this photo we had gone for a performance. This was a great performance and below its during the rehearsals.

This year we would like to do more like to train how to use the musical instruments, we would also love to not only reach out to our community but also other communities, i will be updating you more of the project.

NABUGABO HOLIDAY CENTRE.

It was such an interesting trip at Nabugabo Holiday centre which is situated in Masaka along the shores of L.Nabugabo. I went with Ben and Samuel, we actually enjoyed the trip especially me who had taken long without visiting the village areas. We lived in one of the cortages, because there were a number of them. They also have dormitries which are suitable for accommodation. Camping sites are available for people who are interested in camping. We had gone on a research about a social enterprise camp which is to happen in August. People are allowaed to swim in the lake where by people were having alot of fun in the water.

There are other activities that take place like monkey watching and fishing, even sports activities like Table tennis, football and netball. I enjoyed being on the swings besides the Lake when the wind is blowing in the evenning.
We usually had evenning walks in the local area and in the neighbouring beaches around the area. The children were friendly in the way that i even got friends within a few days. There was good hospitality and i was impressed with everything that happened.

LINDA COUNTRY CLUB

LINDA COUNTRY CLUB
This has been a day for the caterpillas to show whether they earlier knew how to swim or will do their best to learn. Linda country club is a place in kyaliwajala where a few activities take place like swimming which is the major one, and others like pool table.

It has been real fun at Linda country club where the caterpillars and some of the Butterflies have been this weekend. The caterpillars always have a sunday session at the Chrysalis centre but this weekend they went for swimming.
It has been a day for the caterpillars who have not yet become butterflies, some knew how to swim but others didn't.I had taken long without swimming but i used this chance and at first i sunk but i kept on trying until i got a hint on how i can improve on my swimming.

After the swimming, the cartapillas were asked to do a research on a few things around like the depth of the swimming pool, the fee for an adult to swim. They were also asked to mention other activities that take place apart from swimming because it was the major activity that takes place. . They asked them the types of strokes of simming, and other sports activities that take place in water, they knew some but they learnt what they did not know.
Some of us made friends with other kids and played with them in the water and what funny is that some of us at first feared to enter the water and many drunk the water due to the fact that they sunk, they did not know how to swim. At the end some of us who did not know how to swim learnt something.

THE SATURDAY SESSION.

The saturday session went very well, many activities took place. The first activity was Comments on the tutor reports and the past few months the butterflies have improvement.

Next was a scripture of fairness and how do we dirrect our passion which was one of the parables Jesus used.

Something interesting was the speech which was made by Martin Luther King, he had a dream and wanted to fullfill it.

Regarding the passions, the butterflies were asked to speak out how they can dirrect their passion positevely and they spoke their passion.

We are planning to make up a social enterprise film, we did a plan for it and some kind of acting on a film entitled "Annie" and there was some kind of fun.

We also did the Belbin test which was our first time to do it. We always do the thinking skills every session which does a great job of shaping our brains and widening our thinking capacity.

Polar express christmas film was being watched and we liked it because it contained social enterpreneurship actvities like problem solving and confidence.

It was really a good session for the Butterflies.

TODAY AT THE CHRYSALIS CENTRE

I left school in the evening and the first thing i did was going to the church for practices which was led by Ben. The songs were good and we rehearsed them the first time.
